Capsule element pressure gauges are used to measure low pressures in air and dry gases; They cover measuring ranges from 2.5 mbar to 600 mbar. The measuring element consists of two metal membranes, which form a so-called membrane can by soldering together. If excess pressure acts on the interior of the capsule, it expands. At negative pressure, on the other hand, it contracts. This movement is the measure of the pressure to be measured and is transmitted to the movement.
